2. SOCIAL WORK PRACTITIONERS DIALOGUE ON STRENGTHENING SOCIAL SERVICE WORKFORCE IN UGANDA

To ensure that social work is reputable and vibrant social service workforce in Ugandan communities, NASWU Secretariat in collaboration with members and partners through the ministry of gender labor and social development is organizing a dinner  to deliberate issues surrounding Social Work and Social Service delivery in the country on Friday 20th March at hotel Africana. This comes after numerous uninformed comments and theories, disrespectful comments other professions, top government officials including the president of the republic of Uganda made towards the profession.

Social Workers will reflect on key achievements, challenges and forge/propose possible strategy for tabling the social work visibility within the country and change the public opinion and understanding about the great role social workers play in the communities; we also intend to have a press conference on the same
