The Annual Social Workers General Meeting is a one kind of activity organized by the National Association of Social Workers of Uganda – NASWU annually on which forum the NASWU National Executive Committee (NEC) updates her members on
the progress made by the association to attain its objective.
This year’s AGM is expected to attract over 300 practicing Social Workers across all Social Work disciplines and is to be held before the end of the year 2016. Its therefore important to note that there will be elections for NEC members. This year’s AGM is aimed at rejuvenating the glory and accelerating efforts of advocacy for the Social Work profession in the county. Social Workers and Social Welfare institutions are encouraged to use this opportunity to update their membership status through registering or renewing of their membership as only those with valid membership status qualify to participate in the general Assembly.

WHO QUALIFIES TO BE A NASWU MEMBER? (According to the NASWU constitution 2001).
- Any one who holds a minimum of a diploma in Social Work from any recognized institution. (Full membership)
- A student who is pursuing a course or program or training in Social Work in schools or institutions of Social Work recognized by the association. (Student membership)
- Any one who may not be a qualified Social Worker but is actively involved with and contributes to the Social Work profession and accepts to promote the objectives of the association. (Associate membership)
- Organizations whose purpose includes promoting of Social and economic welfare of individuals, groups, communities and nations and who subscribe to the objectives of NASWU. (Organization membership)
