Progress updates on the 2019 IFSW Africa Region Conference

The National Association of Social Workers of Uganda (NASWU) bided and won the rights to host the 2019 International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) Africa Region Conference. The Conference will be held from 29th to 31st October 2019 under the theme “Social Work in Strengthening Human Relations for Social Economic and Political Transformation”

The preparations for conference are in high gear. Here are some progress updates;
1. Draft road map was developed, shared and input was made to.
2. TORs for the National Steering committee have been developed and shared for review.
3. List of the proposed National Steering Committee members was shared.
4. Themes and subthemes were selected
5. NASWU team is to meet up with Commissioner Mr. Kyateeka Mondo (He has been out of office) so as to plan for the first steering committee meeting.
6. The conference email was set up and is awaiting activation so that we can use it for official conference engagement.
7. Content for the conference website was developed and shared
8. The website content also includes the registration process.
